Presented by Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida in partnership with the Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University presents CEO Academy, a one week summer camp to help prepare young aspiring entrepreneurs to be the outstanding business leaders and CEOs of tomorrow!

Open to rising high school juniors and seniors from Southwest Florida, the CEO Academy teaches students the basics of starting and operating a successful business. With the guidance of experienced local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and FGCU professors, academy participants work in project teams to develop a unique business concept and comprehensive business plan. At week’s end, a panel of Junior Achievement Laureates, who have been recognized for their own exceptional practices in entrepreneurship, act as expert judges for the business plan competition. A $1,000 college scholarship will be awarded to each student on the winning team.

This opportunity provides students with invaluable knowledge and experience from successful business leaders and entrepreneurs, an excellent addition to a college application and the chance to participate in future Junior Achievement events.

“It has been one of the best programs I have ever attended, very helpful & inspiring for my future.” – Student, 2009

“ Incredible, one of the most eye-opening things of my life so far…I loved it!!” – Student, 2010

“I have been involved with Junior Achievement for 27 years. The CEO Academy, developed by JA of Southwest Florida, is an amazing way to demonstrate how Junior Achievement develops students’ talents. The ideas for new businesses and the way the students develop a complete business plan in four days is an amazing feat that tests not just the students, but also the instructors who work with them in this program.” — Dr. Max Kalm, Vice President of Quality Assurance and Control for Schering-Plough Corporation in New Jersey
